Brand Owners are encouraged to adopt GS1 Standards and should apply for the GS1 barcode numbers from GS1 Malaysia Berhad.

OEM and Contract Manufacturers are encouraged to advise their trading partners who are brand owners to apply for the GS1 barcode number from GS1 Malaysia. Alternatively they can apply for an additional GS1 membership license for each of their trading partners as long as they are already an active GS1 Malaysia Member.

 

GS1 Additional Membership Application - increase your available GS1 GTINs

GS1 Malaysia offers additional membership licenses for Active GS1 Members who require additional barcode numbers for their products: 

  1. Only available to Active GS1 Malaysia Members
  2. Provides 1,000 additional GS1 GTIN-13 barcode numbers

The following fees will be levied for each new additional membership application:

Total Application Fees for Additional Membership = (1) Processing Fee + (2) VbG-PDSS & Barcode Number Generation +
                                                                                     (3) 1 Year Adv. Sub Fee + (4) Current Year Sub Fee

Note: Applicants must take note that the Additional Membership License renewal fee will be added to their total renewal amount every renewal cycle.

Notes:

  • Renewal fee for additional membership license will be added to total renewal amount.
  • Renewal of your next applicable subscription fees will be every 2 years or Current Year + 1 Year in Advance. Your GS1 membership license renewal cycle is calculated to cover a product under the Product Life Cycle.
  • VbG-PDSS = Verified by GS1: Product Databank Support & Services, RM 480.00, renewed at least once a year.
  • The barcode number generation service is an optional as-needed service to assist GS1 new members to generate their GS1 barcode numbers; RM500.00 for 1,000 barcode numbers. Barcode numbers generated are from a GS1 member's allocated block of barcode numbers.
  • Deposit will be refunded upon official resignation (official resignation letter must be provided) of GS1 Malaysia membership.
