The GS1 GLN Membership - a unique GS1 license for entity, location and asset identifiers, to comply with ongoing and upcoming regulations

The GS1 Global Location Number (GLN) is a globally recognized unique identifier for entities, locations and assets.

  • Entities - ABC Company, DEF Agency, Ministry of GHI
  • Locations, Physical - Warehouses, Factories, Distribution Centers, Retail Stores
  • Locations, Digital - IP Addresses, Email Addresses, Web Addresses
  • Locations, Assets (Fixed) - LNG Generator, Transformer, Oxygen Tank Cluster

The GS1 GLN Membership License provides 10 x 13-digit GLN numbers.

Kindly follow the steps below to register for a GLN License:

A) Kindly apply online by clicking here: https://www.gs1my.com/member/r1/node/20

The following fees will be levied for each new GLN membership application:

Total New Application Fees = (1) Registration Fee + (2) Security Deposit + (3) VbG-PDSS +
                                                 (4) 2 Years Adv. Sub Fees + (5) Current Year Sub Fee

B) Submit the following documentation:

  • Company Registration Documents (SSM, Form 9, Section 14, etc.)
  • Latest Annual Returns (or Form 24)
  • Proof of Payment

C) Determine the amount payable (See the table below)

Notes:

  • GLN Numbers cannot be used to identify products or cartons in place of GTINs and vice versa.
  • Renewal of your next applicable subscription fees will be every 2 years or Current Year + 1 Year in Advance. Your GS1 membership license renewal cycle is calculated to cover a product under the Product Life Cycle.
  • VbG-PDSS = Verified by GS1: Product Databank Support & Services, RM 380.00, renewed at least once a year. Manages your GLN records.
  • Deposit will be refunded upon official resignation (official resignation letter must be provided) of GS1 Malaysia membership.

Notes:

  • The renewal invoice will be sent by GS1 Malaysia after the expiration of the initial application fees.
  • The renewal invoice will contain 2 years worth of subscription fees.
  • Subsequent renewal invoices will be sent every 2 years.
